Planning is deliberate and conscious attempt towards the molding or modeling or re-modeling of the environment in contrast with the natural growth or form. Natural growth or form may be enhanced by goof planning or marred by bad planning. In other words, it is the process of achieving certain objectives through preconceived actions, reactions and thoughts.The molding of environment will obviously necessitate the correct arrangement of various elements.

It is the arrangement of several individual elements or units in their correct relationship to each other which truly can be termed as planning. The objectives of planning in terms of interior decoration may be a cosy little home. Planning is thus a conscious exercise of the power of combination and design to form a harmonious composition as a whole and security with a roof over head for the members as also others.

Natural Fibers Used In Carpet

Wool and cotton are the natural fibers used in the carpet.

Cotton: Cotton is a seldom used in carpeting today because it has only fair resistance to wear. Its soils easily lose its appearance rapidly, but the only advantage is that it washes easily.

Wool: Wool is the ultimate carpet fiber, the one that sets the standards for all others. It dyes exceedingly well. Wool yarn is generally a blend of various types of wool to achieve a luxurious natural texture. A good wool carpet, with sufficient density, is expensive, but worth it if is price is not the main concern. A good wool carpet is an excellent buy for long hard wear, and good appearance.

Man-made Fibers: Although, man-made fibers differ gently, they have certain desirable characteristics in common they resist month, mildew and mold, and they are all non-allergenic. They are also available in a variety of colors and patterns. However, they are nor as superior as woolen carpets.

Acrylic: This resembles wool more closely than any other man-made fibers. It is more durable than wood, less durable than nylon. It resists sunfading and water, which makes easy cleaning and rapid drying. It has excellent resilience and crush recovery. They wear well and have good stain and spot removal properties. Acrylic’s colors are brighter than wool’s and are obtainable in all popular carpet styles. They are also less expensive as compared to woolen carpets. Of all new fabrics, manmade such as nylon, acrylic, rayon, polyester, plastic and fiber glass are the most popular for their qualities such as availability, variety, color fastness, durability and easy to wash and maintain. Fabrics made from manmade fibers are being improved all the time. While purchasing furnishing fabrics, it is important to consider the fabric durability, resistance to sunlight and soil, possible insect damage, suitability, total cost, problems of construction, shape, stability, maintenance and ease of laundering and cleaning.
